Negreanu on Tilt

Daniel Negreanu has to be my favorite celebrity poker player. I think he does more benifit for the game than most players just by being himself. His Poker Journal found on his site Full Contact Poker is awesome. If you aren't reading it, you need to stop reading my humble attempt at a blog, follow the link, and go check it out. Read all his entries, cardplayer articles, and browse through the forum, then find your way back here and finish my post.

I'm serious, stop reading.

Alright, welcome back, pretty sweet site he has eh? Anyway, I thought it was interesting to see what he thought about the first episode of TILT. His response about it being bad for the image of poker is something that has a lot of merit to it.

One of my biggest pet peeves with movies and television is that they can take something that in actuality is a really great story and then change it, most often making it worse (i.e. Alexander). Why not take some of the great stories/tales from the "cowboy" era of poker and do a series about it. A show that similar in feel/style to Deadwood would do well if you asked me.

Problem is, nobody does. I think that poker, if you want to get into it in a fictional way, is interesting enough where you can tell a realistic story and entertain people.

Anyway, enough ranting about TILT. One last link to a great article by Howard Lederer on the steps to mastery of poker. Today's Sunday which means that my week-end results post should be up sometime late tonight.
