I'm Back

So, I got back from Texas today, were I've been for the last 5 days and I think it was exactly the break I need to get me back into the swing of things. February to this point has been......, well, pathetic. If I'm going to get off telling people that I'm a professional poker player, I better start playing some poker. My bankroll is sitting at 3k after a car, airfare, various other bills and some miscellanous purchases and I'm not pleased with how I've been doing playing wise.

I'm thinking about starting some kind of goals/rewards for myself to encourage putting in the hands. I'm going to come up with a few items that I would really like to purchase and decide how many weeks in a row I need to meet my hands goals to be able to buy myself the item. At the same time however I need to focus on building the bankroll so that sometime in the next few months I can move up to $10/20 and get comfortable. Realistically, every dollar I take out now is costing me twice as much because it's holding me back from the higher levels. I need to figure out some sort of budget and stick to it. Let me tell everyone right now, the hardest thing about being a poker pro is not the cards, that's the easy part. Money management, emotional control, and motivation are far harder than deciding whether to raise the flop or wait for the turn.

All that being said, I've sat down and come up with a preliminary budget/goals for the rest of February and March. For February I have another three or four hundred needed to get me through the month (including March's rent/bills though) so financially I should be fine. My goals are to play another 7500 hands by the end of the month, (just over 1k hands/day). I'd like to finish the month with $550 in rakeback at least (should be automatic if I hit my hand goals). I'd like to also play in at least one more WSOP qualifier, and get in a live session at Soaring Eagle by the end of the month.

My goals for March are similar, I want to spend less than 1k on bills/April's rent/food/etc. Hands-wise I'd like to get in 5k hands/wk and an extra 10 hours of Pot Limit Omaha play throughout the month. I'd like to play in 4 WSOP qualifiers (unless I win a seat, then I'll settle for less), and get in 2 live sessions. I'd also like to have a bankroll of $7500 by the end of the month and be within a stone's throw of 10/20. To keep myself on track I'm re-committing to posting 2 times a week. Sunday's will be my week's end post again and Wednesday's will be a mid-week unstructured post.

Is all this possible? Yes. Would I bet on myself here? No. In the past I've done the same thing over and over again, set goals, follow them to the letter for a couple of weeks and then start slacking off. I was talking to a mentor of mine and he said the best thing to do was keep setting goals and trying hard to not slack off. The more times you do it, the more likely you are to suceed at accomplishing your goals.

Anyway, until Sunday.

Scapegote

I like to gamble. I like to gamble a lot. I've also made quite a comfortable living in the casinos.
football gambling has been a casino online where I have been a consistent winner. football gambling is an Egold casino with instant payouts.
They run a fair shop and aren't out to cheat anyone.
As a professional gambler, I highly recomend them for online gambling.

By the way, I like your blog quite a bit.

Thanks,
Have a great day.

Have you done anything earth shattering lately?

Read anything that really sets your mind on fire with a passion to do good?

How about doing something important for yourself?

Have you?

Do you know without a doubt where life is taking you?

Got a Plan?

Know how to get there?

Most people don't. They just go through life hoping for the best. How can you possibly reach your dreams if you don't have a real plan?

A new year is coming. It's time to start thinking about your New Years Resolution and really start planning your life don't you think. Follow through on some of those old goals you had years ago.

Even people in the goal setting business tend not to visit their "life plan" very often.

Are you one of those?

Need a little refresher and some FREE goal setting tips?

Spend a few minutes at career goals and take away life changing information.

Happy New Year!

After a good read on blogs like this I like to leave little tips on goal setting. You know, the things you used to dream of when you were young, or even now.

A lot of research has shown that only those who set goals are likely to achieve their dreams.

When is the last time you really sat down and wrote a few short term and long term goals down?

What? It's been that long!

A new year is coming. You could do the same things you did this year and achieve the same results you did with your life dreams last year, or you could visit career goals and read all the FREE information on setting goals and getting what you want out of life

OR

you could just piddle on through life hoping for the best, like most people do.

Which will it be?

You really can have a lot more of everything than you do now. All you gotta do is know what you want and have a plan.

Have a GREAT New Year!

You know Scapegote, I'm Back is an interesting subject when put in that context. It's amazing how many blogs out there are devoted to live online poker, casinos, how to win at this and that and the like. Like so many people I love my poker either online or just playing with friends at home I put up a small site to live online poker to try and fund my playing experience, anyway on I surf from blog to blog to see what other people think of this funny world we all live in. Keep it up people are reading!!

I was going to leave a little tip on New Years Resolutions and how to make the best of them.

Unfortunately, I would not be able to keep it brief.

Goal setting takes effort and you really have to know how to do it to do it well. Especially the follow-up.

That's why I've included a lot of FREE goal setting information on my website, to help folks like you be more successful.

In fact, you can start now, and get a head start on the new year - and the rest of your life.

Think goal setting isn't important? Spend a little time at reaching goals and you'll change your mind.

Have a GREAT day!

Yes! I'm Back never more a truer word written. Scapegote keep it up I always enjoy a thought provoking read on a lonely night with a glass of scotch. Definitely beats Jenny with her barbie doll blog site. I just left another interesting site with a few books on the subject of poker live online poker I never realised you can actually use computer software while playing to actually help you lift your odds! Don't know how practical it would be but some people are definitely swearing by it. I will look into it further and anything to do with live online poker to help my game. Viva online play!!

Even though my search is not on I'm Back I am glad I came across your blog. Keep blogging away!

It looks like you need to clean up some of these comments...

I stumbled across your blog this morning, and I'm curious how things are have gone since you last posted. I don't know if I'll ever be ready to play poker full-time, but your story is interesting.

I'm currently working on clearing my bankroll on some of the low-limit hold 'em sites. Maybe one day I'll have the "problem" of what to do with the winnings!
